It's been a long time coming but last week I finally did a new design in my collective noun series! And to celebrate we're going to have a little giveaway! See below for details...
It sold well at the two markets I attended last week which was exciting - it's always fun when you sell the first on of a new print! As I've never blogged about my obsession with collective nouns I thought I'd pop a few more of my designs up here for you to check out. They can all be bought from my store over here!
What's your favourite collective noun? Any suggestions as to what animals I should draw next in this series?
Just to make this more fun, the person who comes up with my favourite suggestion will get a free copy of the new print (once I've drawn it of course!) along with one of my Mystery Card Bundles! To enter, put your suggestions in the comments below and I'll be picking my favourite at the end of the week. Spread the word folks... this could be fun!
Note: The collection currently includes owls, giraffes, turtles, jellyfish, finches, peacocks, penguins, zebras, snails, whales, platypuses, swans and of course, belted galloways! So don't suggest these ones if you want to win!
Thanks everyone! Looking forward to your suggestions!

Recently laughed with a group of fellow students of immigration law over "an eloquence of lawyers"- the lecturer had wondered what the collectuve noun was for that and I managed to find it. Will you draw that...?
ReplyDeletegood work btw!!!!
Love the belted galloways. Beautiful graphic!
ReplyDeleteMurder of crows, of course! :)
These collective nouns are fun aren't they? Here are a couple of my favs: congregation of crocodiles, mob of kangaroos, pandeomonium of parrots and a wisdom of wombats:) Cyndy
ReplyDeleteI particularly like a wisdom of wombats... I've been thinking I need more Australian animals in the collection!
DeleteI love your belted galloways!
ReplyDeleteParliament of owls is one of my favourite collective nouns, but I don't think it quite beats clowder of cats and rabble of butterflies.
Just discovered your prints at the VIC night markets - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA gaggle of geese, a sneak of weasels and a mischief of mice - so cute.
A Siege of Herons! A Train of Jackdaws! An Unkindness of Ravens! A Business of Flies! :D
ReplyDeleteWas lovely to meet you at the market tonight. Love your buttons too!
A siege of Heron - love it!
DeleteYou win!! I am quite taken with a Seige of Heron... can you email me your details so I can send you your print and cards? Once I've drawn it of course...
DeleteThanks!!
A babble of bunnies, a basket of bunnies, a doona of ducks, a posse of pandas :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Jo! I really should do a Gang of Elk seeing as it's the name of our other business!
DeleteWhat about a zeal of zebras?
ReplyDeleteA CRASH OF RHINOS!
ReplyDeleteWow - thanks for all the great suggestions!! I'll be announcing the winner on friday, after some drawing time!! I like so many of these there might need to be a few runner ups!
ReplyDeleteOk, the winner is...
ReplyDeleteA Seige of Herons!
Thanks Bathyscaphist!
I choose this partly because the word Seige conjures up great imagery and also because herons are such lovely creatures - I really want to draw them!!
There are so many good suggestions on this page I may well do a few more of them in the future... I will let you know if I do your suggestion!
Thanks for all the comments!
Bwahahaha: an escargatoire of snails??? What were they thinking!!! LOL

Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying
ReplyDeleteyour blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any points for novice blog writers? I'd
definitely appreciate it.
